Description

DNS SRV (Domain Name System Service Record) mode is a feature available in Grandstream IP phones that allows the phones to automatically discover and register with a SIP server using DNS SRV records.

This article shows the example settings of DNS SRV Mode in Grandstream IP Phones.

Figure 1: Account settings. Fill in the Outbound Proxy Server if required.
Figure 2: Under the Account > Network Settings > configure DNS Mode to SRV
Figure 3: Run Wireshark packet capture to find out the DNS traffic. You should be able to determine the DNS SRV’s priorities and the weights from the packet
