Description
This article describes the best practices to free up the data partition in Grandstream IP PBX UCM to avoid abnormal behaviors such as call drops, delays, and slow performance. The UCM62XX or UCM6510 series has a config partition of only 200MB while the UCM630X series has a 500MB config partition.
The data partition is used up by the following files:
1. Voice recordings: Status >> CDR >> Recording Files
2. Queue Recordings: PBX >> Call Features >> Call Queue
3. Conference Recordings: PBX >> Call Features >> Conference
4. Faxes: PBX >> Fax/T.38
5. CDR: Status >> CDR >> CDR
6. Voicemails can be deleted by the user and through the Cleaner utility.
Best Practices
1. If you don’t want to delete your files, you may save a backup on the external USB under Maintenance > Backup > create a new backup then delete the records manually on the UCM.
2. Configure the Cleaner utility to automatically remove these files under Maintenance >> Cleaner.
3. Factory reset the UCM, check the partition and the space remaining then upload again the backup file.
4. Change the location of the recording to storage to Local (Settings > Recording Storage), and then try the Voice cleaner again, the cleaner will be executed depending on the configuration: Clean Time and Clean Interval are set to a close hour and day, otherwise, you’ll need to delete the records manually from Status > CDR Recording Files. After it’s done, plug again the USB and change the location back to it.
