Description
This article describes the best practices to free up the data partition in Grandstream IP PBX UCM to avoid abnormal behaviors such as call drops, delays, and slow performance. The UCM62XX or UCM6510 series has a config partition of only 200MB while the UCM630X series has a 500MB config partition.
The data partition is used up by the following files:
1. Voice recordings: Status > CDR > Recording Files
2. Queue Recordings: PBX > Call Features >> Call Queue
3. Conference Recordings: PBX > Call Features > Conference
4. Faxes: PBX > Fax/T.38
5. CDR: Status > CDR
6. Voicemails: These can be deleted by the user or via the Cleaner utility.
Best Practices
1. Save a local backup on the external storage devices (eg. USB or SD card) under Maintenance > Backup > Backup/Restore then delete the records manually on the UCM.
2. Configure the Manual or Automatic Cleaning utility under Maintenance > System Cleanup/Reset > Cleaner.
3. Factory reset the UCM, check the partition and the remaining space, and then upload the backup file again.
4. Change the locations of the Recording Files under PBX Settings > File Manager.
By following these best practices, you can maintain the optimal performance of the Grandstream IP PBX UCM device and avoid potential issues related to storage limitations.
