Overview

Starting with firmware version 1.0.1.52, the Grandstream GRP261X series introduces the Remote Phonebook feature. This allows users to easily access and manage a centralized phonebook via an XML server.

Configuration Steps

  1. Access the Phone’s Web GUI:
    • Log in to the Grandstream GRP261X web interface.
  2. Navigate to the Remote Phonebook Settings:
    • Go to Directory > Remote Phonebook.
  3. Configure Remote Phonebook Settings:
    • Phonebook Download Interval: Set this to 5 (in minutes).
    • Remote Phonebook 1: Assign a name to the phonebook (e.g., “Test Phonebook”).
    • HTTP/HTTPS Username: Leave this field empty.
    • HTTP/HTTPS Password: Leave this field empty.
    • Phonebook XML Server Path: Enter the following URL:
      http://tanshiyiing.com/phonebook.xml
  4. Save the Configuration:
    • Click Save and Apply to save the settings.
  5. Download the Phonebook:
    • On the phone’s LCD, navigate to Remote Phonebook.
    • Click on Download.
  6. Verify Contacts:
    • After downloading, you should be able to view the contacts from the remote phonebook.
