GRP260X Troubleshooting: Fix Boot Issues Stuck at Grandstream Logo

Description

The GRP260X may fail to boot and get stuck at the Grandstream logo. The latest firmware version (1.0.7.11) resolves this issue.

Recovery Methods

  1. Switch to Alternative Firmware and Upgrade:
    • Press softkey 2 and softkey 3 simultaneously, then power on the phone.
    • If the LCD displays the Grandstream logo with buttons available, it enters the Idle page. It shows that the alternative firmware loads successfully.
      • Grandstream GRP260x LCD screen shows Grandstream with buttons - Idle state
    • Upgrade to firmware version 1.0.7.11 via the phone’s idle page, and perform a factory reset.
  2. Switch to Alternative Firmware, Force Reboot, and Upgrade:
    • Press softkey 2 and softkey 3 simultaneously, then power on the phone.
    • If booting fails after multiple power cycles, keep trying until the phone boots up successfully.
    • Once it boots up and enters the Idle page, upgrade the phone to firmware version 1.0.7.11 and perform a factory reset.
  3. Switch to Alternative Firmware, Fail to Reboot, and Start Provisioning on the Web:
    • Press softkey 2 and softkey 3 simultaneously, then power on the phone.
    • If the LCD remains stuck on the flash ‘Grandstream’ logo page with softkeys LED turned off and buttons unavailable on the top panel, it indicates that the Web Interface is accessible.
    • Connect a cable to the phone’s LAN port to access its web interface.
    • Obtain the phone’s IP address using either a ping command or Wireshark.
    • Use the web interface to upload the firmware or modify the server path to upgrade to version 1.0.7.11
    • Perform a factory reset.

How to check the phone’s IP address

There are two methods to check the phone’s IP address:

  1. Using Ping Command: Connect the PC and phone to the same switch, and run the ping command with the phone’s MAC address. For eg. ping c074ad27767e.local

  • Using Wireshark: Capture packets filtered by the phone’s MAC address to see its IP.

    I tried the same with all the steps but it’s solving the issue.
    As well checked ping and wireshark option but no success.
