Grandstream Gateway GXW42XX Unable to upload the file CGI Error

Description

When uploading the firmware file to the Grandstream GXW42XX FXS gateway, you may encounter the error: “Unable to upload the file. Please try again. Reason: CGI Error.”

How-to

This error typically occurs when the incorrect firmware file is uploaded. The GXW42xx V2 device requires a different firmware file than the GXW42xx V1 device. Please ensure you use the correct firmware file for each version, as specified on the firmware page.

To differentiate between the GXW42xx V1 and V2 devices, please check the label on the back of the device:

  1. Model Name: The GXW42xx V2 will have “V2” printed in its model name (e.g., “Model: GXW4216 V2”). If there is no “V1” or “V2” printed, the device is a GXW42xx V1.
  2. Device Password: The GXW42xx V2 will have the device password printed on the label, while the GXW42xx V1 does not.

Please verify these details before attempting to upload the firmware again.
