This article describes the frequently asked questions for the Grandstream networking solutions – routers, network switches, access points, convergence solutions, and GDMS.Cloud and GWN Manager.
What is the maximum number of VLANs supported in each router model?

More VLANs require larger bandwidth usage, depending on the traffic patterns and the number of active devices within each VLAN.
What will happen if Hardware Acceleration is disabled?
When the hardware acceleration is disabled, the forwarding bandwidth between VLANs and VLANs will be limited to 250-400Mbps (GWN7002/3). It is not recommended to use VLAN to VLAN traffic forwarding when hardware acceleration is turned off.
When the hardware acceleration is enabled, the following modules are affected:
- QoS (not supported)
- Bandwidth limit
- APP identification and traffic statistics (not supported)
- Content security
How many processors are in GWN70XX routers?
GWN7062 has a quad-core CPU while GWN7001/2/3 has a dual-core.
What is the normal CPU temperature range for the routers?
It is 15°C to 110°C for GWN70x2 series routers and 0°C to 125°C for GWN7001/2/3 series routers.
What is the normal CPU temperature range for the access points?
It is 15°C to 110°C for the indoor access points and 0°C to 110°C for the outdoor access points. The Wi-Fi performance may slow down at the Access Points when the temperature is above 100°C. The AP’s device temperature is mainly affected by two factors:
1. the installation location is conducive to heat dissipation; the device will be warmer if the space is closed and narrow.
2. the number of users and throughput; the higher the throughput, the higher the temperature.
What will happen when the GWN7062 router is set to Access Point mode?
GWN7062 does not support local web UI and GDMS Networking management when configured in Access Point mode.
Are there any PPSK limits on the access points with the RADIUS server?
It is limited to 300 per access point without a RADIUS server. There is no PPSK limitation when the RADIUS server is used.
How does the GWN Manager discover and pair the devices?
GWN Manager can discover the devices on the same local subnet; if the device is on a different VLAN or subnet the users can use the DHCP Option to auto-set the controller address.

What are the background and acoustic noises of the Grandstream Network Switches GWN78XX series?
Network switches with higher numbers of ports generate more heat and require more robust cooling systems, and this can result in higher noise levels from the fans. What are the file formats supported in the USB port of the GCC601X series?
The supported file formats are vfat, exFAT, NTFS, and ext2/3/4. We recommend ext4 for its file system’s ability to handle larger files and a higher number of files,
Why does the web page show blank when accessing GDMS networking?
Please check if it works in the Cloud Mobile app. Disable any anti-virus software on the PC. Open the Console on the browser F12 to help see if there is any error printing. If the customer cannot recover, please open the console F12 and switch to the Application-Storage-Local Storage, right-click the Clear menu, and try again.

How to configure fan mode using CLI?
The fan on/off is dynamically adjusted based on temperature. If the fan is always running, its life cycle will be reduced.
Set the fan status as follows:

What are the supported SPF modules in GCC601X
How many switches can GCC601X support?
It can support up to 50 switches for optimal performance.
Understanding Load Balancing in GWN and GCC routers
Theoretically, when the weights are set to 1, the streams are distributed evenly.
However, this differs if both ISPs’ bandwidths are not the same.
Let’s say:
WAN2 (Unifi) provides 500Mbps
WAN3 (SIM card router) provides 100Mbps, the suggested weights are 5: 1
The number of packets is still even distributed on both ports, but the speed will rely on the ISP bandwidth.

Is the PoE power budget on the GWN7003 router enough to power 2 x GWN7660E?
The default PSU in the packaging (24V 1A) can only power 1 Access Point. 24V 2A or 2.5A is enough to power 2 x GWN7660E. However, a temporary build is needed to allow this. Please note that the increased power will lead to high temperatures. The device may experience abnormal behavior or malfunction.
Do Outbound Rules and Pre-Authentication rules take effect at the same time?
Captive Portal and Firewall rules cannot be used at the same time.
Please configure “Pre Authentication Rule(s)” in ‘Portal Policy’ to replace Outbound Rules in this scenario.
What is the RAM and Flash size in Grandstream GWN Access Points?
All Grandstream GWN Networking Access Points‘ Flash size is 128Mb.
